To our customers and suppliersÂ
In support of the national effort to contain the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), and in line with Governmental advice, our trading practices will be significantly reduced as of the close of business on Friday 27th March 2020.
As always, the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees, customers, suppliers and communities remain our primary focus. We have already taken steps to reduce our office/warehouse staffing levels to the bare minimum and have enforced strict social distancing guidelines for remaining members of the team.
We will continue to run limited deliveries next week for urgent orders that have already been placed. However, our branches will NOT be open for collections or for customers to visit.
The vast majority of our sales and admin team are now working from home, so please feel free to call your usual contact with any product or technical queries you may have.
We will continue to update our website and social media channels as the situation develops, and we thank you for your continued support and understanding in these difficult times.
With kind regards

Dear customers,
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, the health and safety or our staff, customers and suppliers remains our No1 priority. We are actively encouraging extra hygiene and social distancing as much as possible throughout our entire business and adhering to all Governmental guidelines.
Yet despite the challenges we are facing, we remain optimistic and are maintaining a policy of âkeep calm and carry onâ.
We still are offering a NEXT DAY DELIVERY service for most stock items. However, in line with Government guidelines we are having to keep our drivers at a distance of 2-metres from any other individual. This means that signing PODs is proving to be immensely difficult.
As of this morning, we have adopted a temporary policy concerning our PODâs.
Our driver will deliver your goods in the usual manner, but there will no hand-over of POD paperwork. Instead, the driver will note the name of the customer who received the goods and will record this on the note along side the time and date. Our driver will then sign the POD him/herself on behalf of the person receiving the goods. We have implemented this procedure to ensure the protection of your workforce as well as our drivers.
We sincerely hope you will understand why we are taking these extraordinary, yet necessary measures and would urge you to contact us immediately should you have any concerns.
Take care of yourselves out there!
With best regards,
Â

This week marks the 7th anniversary of TEKFLOOR being in business.
And we couldn’t let the occasion pass without saying a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us, worked with us, taken a chance on us and believed in us during this time.
Â
TEKFLOORâs Joint Managing Director, Steve Foster said, âLike most young businesses, we’ve had our moments over the last 7-years. And we’ve learnt to take the rough with the smooth. At the moment though, business is booming! The whole idea of creating a customer focussed business – specifically tailored towards the floor screeding, drywall and external render industries – is really starting to pay off; not just for us, but for our customer base too.”
Â
“We’ve made some heavy investments just recently, especially when it comes to our transport and warehousing activities. We’re also working with a couple of suppliers on some exciting R&D projects which will result in the launch of a few new products in the months ahead. Order values are increasing and we’re constantly having to take on extra staff to cope with the workload. It’s a great position to be in.”
Â
Here’s to many, many more exciting years ahead.

New fleet signals the
Following recent news of a successful multi-million-pound fundraise, screed & render distributor, TEKFLOOR has today taken receipt of a brand-new 32-tonne truck; the very first in a substantial upgrade to its fleet.
With a faultless commitment towards commercial success, TEKFLOORâs partnership with new vehicle partner, MARCOL, will ensure that their self-managed transport arm remains fully operational; and equipped with the latest, most efficient fleet of commercial vehicles.
In the first phase of the fleet overhaul, the company will take delivery of no less than 23 brand-new, fully liveried vehicles.
In addition,

TEKFLOORâs Joint Managing Director, Adam Wiszniewski, told us âThe partnership with Marcol represents a significant opportunity for us and we are delighted to be working with them. The confidence they have shown in our management team and future direction has been genuinely encouraging and we look forward to a long-lasting partnership.â
The investment will enable Tekfloor to augment its success to date and pursue exciting new opportunities. These include moving into the external wall render market where it aims to repeat its success in the screed market by becoming the UKâs leading independent in renders also. To facilitate these plans,
Adam went on to say that since an increasing number of customers were insisting on the use of rigid vehicles, it was the perfect opportunity to move away from tractor and trailer units and focus on customer demand.
âWhen it came to selection, the shape of the new fleet has been very much customer led. One of our greatest strengths as a company is that we listen. We strive to give our customers exactly what they need to make their own jobs/lives easier.
âBy changing from 26-tonne to 32-tonne units, the new rigid vehicles will of course accommodate more weight; meaning customers are set to receive far fewer deliveries. The other plus is that there will be fewer haulage miles travelled; which of course is a big tick in the box towards our environmental aims for the company.â
All new vehicles are set to meet all of the latest requirements for compliance with FORS GOLD, TFL, CLOCS and Network Rail, with a number of safety features being included as standard.
âAll new vehicles will be fitted with camera equipment and parking sensors. However, with Londonâs âDirect Vision Standardâ HGV safety scheme currently under consultation, we felt it necessary to go a step further with our rigid units and look towards a more future-proof solution.â
The lower door panel on the passenger door comes equipped with a viewing window, which allows the driver a much clearer view of cyclists and pedestrians approaching the nearside of the vehicle.
TEKFLOOR anticipates that the new fleet will offer increased flexibility and improved service to customers, at the same time as delivering proved efficiencies through planning backload collections.
As the UKâs leading independent distributor of screed, render and associated products to the construction sector, TEKFLOORâs ambitious plans for the future are set to see the companyâs turnover more than double.
One of the Sheffield City Regionâs fastest growing businesses has secured a substantial equity investment from UK Steel Enterprise (âUKSEâ), the investment subsidiary of Tata Steel.
Following a competitive process,
Rotherham-based Tekfloor is now established as the UKâs leading independent distributor of screed and associated products to the construction sector. Under the stewardship of owners Steve Foster and Adam Wiszniewski, the company has delivered rapid growth with turnover set to exceed ÂŁ20m in 2019.
The investment is the next logical step in Tekfloorâs development, providing a solid foundation for the company to further enhance sales and profitability by exploiting strategic growth opportunities.
Since Tekfloorâs inception in 2013, its success has been built on exceptional customer service and technical expertise, supported by robust systems and procedures.
The investment will enable Tekfloor to augment its success to date and pursue exciting new opportunities. These include moving into the external wall render market where it aims to repeat its success in the screed market by becoming the UKâs leading independent in renders also. To facilitate these plans, Tekfloor is expanding its specialist team and investing in a new fleet of vehicles.

Keith Williams and Gordon Jamieson delivered the funding package from UKSE, with Nick Goulding providing legal support.
Adam Wiszniewski, finance director at Tekfloor, said: âSteve and I have known for a long time that the potential for Tekfloor was huge. The only thing holding us back was a lack of funding. It is very satisfying when a reputable investor like UKSE gives us such a vote of confidence. This investment will allow us to really kick on to greater things.â
David Forrest, partner at BHP Corporate Finance, said: âThis is a genuine landmark moment for Tekfloor. Since starting out only six years ago the business has achieved phenomenal growth and of course had to deal with the inevitable challenges of such a growth trajectory along the way. This development capital fundraising is perfectly timed and gives Tekfloor the platform to take the business to the next level. Itâs been a pleasure for us to have been part of their journey for several years now and we look forward to continuing to support Steve and Adam going forward.â

Paul Trudgill, partner at Keebles, said: âAfter having acted for Tekfloor for several years and seen them grow significantly in that time, it was great to be able to assist them to secure the investment they need to achieve their ambitions.â

Exceeding expectation is one of our main core values.
It’s what we stand for. It’s why we started in business in the first place.
Speak to any of our customers and they will tell you that at TEKFLOOR, we are 100% dedicated to meeting and fulfilling their needs.
They’ll also tell you that we constantly look to improve on the standards and requirements that our supply chain and clients have come to rightly expect from us.
So … once again we are putting our money where our mouths are!
And we’ve decided to commit to months of hard graft, policy writing and never-ending audit trails, with an aim of transforming our Silver FORS certificate into GOLD!
Many of you will already be familiar with the scheme, and what it stands for. For those of you who haven’t heard of it – The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a completely voluntary accreditation scheme that promotes best practice for commercial vehicle operators like ourselves.
It encompasses all aspects of Fleet Management, Vehicle Management, Driver Responsibility and Operations. It does this by encouraging and training fleet operators to measure, monitor and improve their overall performance.
There are three level to FORS accreditation:
- Bronze FORS
- Silver FORS (for which Tekfloor are currently accredited); and
- Gold FORS
These three levels give fleet operators of all sizes the chance to achieve progressive accreditation to achieve excellent levels of best practice.
Having another certificate to put on the wall is all well and good. But this accolade means so much more to us than just compliance.
A FORS GOLD achievement is as much about us successfully embracing a massive cultural shift within the company.
And we are hoping it goes a long way to prove to our customers and supplier that we are fully committed to better workplace safety, inter-company communications, greener credentials and increased efficiency.
This week marks the 5th anniversary of TEKFLOOR being in business.
And we wanted to mark the occasion by saying a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us, worked with us, taken a chance on us and believed in us during this time.
We have to admit, it hasn’t all been plain sailing. But as the lyrical masters Chumbawumba once said – “you get knocked down, you get back up again”!
TEKFLOORâs Joint Managing Director, Steve Foster said, âLike most young businesses, we’ve had our moments over the years and you have to be prepared to take the rough with the smooth. But at the moment, I’m delighted to say that business is absolutely booming! The whole idea of creating a niche service specifically for the floor screeding industry – with a strong focus on top quality products and an unbeatable level of service is really starting to pay off.”
“We’ve invested heavily in the business just recently, especially in our marketing and distribution activities, and we are working on a number of exciting R&D projects which will result in the launch of a few new products in the months ahead. Order values are increasing and we’re having to take on extra staff to cope with the workload. It’s a great position to be in.”
Here’s to many, many more exciting years ahead.

The latest certificate in the TEKFLOOR arsenal confirms our recent FIS seal of approval.
The Finishes and Interiors Sector (FIS) is an independent body that represents a wide range of companies involved in the manufacture, supply and installation of all aspects of interior fit-out and refurbishment, including flooring and screeding.
Since the FIS actively promote good practice in the interiors sector, we are delighted to have been accepted as an associate member of such a respected organisation.
Part of the organisation’s mission is to raise, maintain and ensure continuity of standards in training, site management and health and safety. This gives specifiers the peace of mind that any member they engage with, will provide excellent service and results.
We look forward to our first year with them and hope to be able to pass on any knowledge gained to our loyal customer base.
Running our own transport fleet is not an easy task and it can invariably throw up its own set of difficulties and challenges. So, why on earth would we voluntarily opt to have our fleet audited once a year by an independent assessor?
Well, that because at TEKFLOOR, we take full responsibility for getting your orders to you not only on time; but in the most efficient, safe, environmentally sympathetic way we possibly can.
FORS, a voluntary accreditation scheme that was initially launched by Transport for London, helps fleet operators like us to measure and monitor our performance and alter our operations if required, in order to demonstrate best practice.
The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) looks at all aspects of our road safety, fuel efficiency, environmental awareness and improved operations and is a key element of instilling a mindset of continual improvement throughout our whole workforce.
For the second year running, we are proud to have been re-awarded FORS Silver status.
To achieve this, we had to undergo a rigorous inspection by a FORS auditor. All of our policies, procedures, risk assessments, level of accidents, truck files (inspection and maintenance), staff training (e-learning, classroom, toolbox talksâŚ) were reviewed, plus how we communicate all relevant information to staff.
We also had to undergo an additional, more in-depth inspection which delved into all of our data on fuel efficiency, tyre consumption and safety kits (360 camera system, audible warning systems, blind spot minimisation to protect vulnerable road users, i.e. pedestrians and cyclists).
In addition to this, all our drivers are obliged to take part in a CPC Safe Urban Driving Training course as well as other training provided by FORS to help maintain their personal standards.
The auditor was extremely happy with his findings and commented that to sustain such an excellent level of compliance during a period of raid company growth was admirable.
